On Charlie Rangel

Yeah Luke Russert is a young punk. But that wouldn't matter if Rangel's kitchen timer hadn't dinged, oh, about ten years ago.

Rangel is a poster boy for a Congress and Senate long overdue for some fresh blood. Forty-seven Senators are over 65; the average age of a House member is 58, but that's mostly because that douche Aaron Schock was born in 1981.

It not the age of the of elected officials it's the fact that most of them are millionaire's or multi-millionaire's.

There have been some great old liberals who served with great distinction for many years. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Mansfield

  3. I happen to think age is a big part.
I'm still pissed at Kennedy and the Byrd Man. Kennedy knowing he was dieing held on to his seat till he croaked. If he had stepped down before hand, Assuredly he might have hand picked his successor.
Byrd who passed away a long time ago but refused to die screwed millions of the unemployed. His vote was needed to pass the unemployment extensions.
EGO,wouldn't let them do the right thing. Age clouded their judgment.
    Did someone say Term limits.

If your data allow it, try for a median instead of an average. That way better allows for offset extremes like Schock.

When I calculate the grades of my students, I always look at the median instead of the average, for this reason. One or two in the 34% range sink the average to where it's useless.
