...she sure didn't pander to Biblical scholars like me and Jon Stewart.
Senator Clinton at the Univision Debate re harsh penalties for those who hire illegal immigrants: "It would have criminalized the Good Samaritan. It would have criminalized Jesus Christ."
John Stewart: "Yes, imagine the world today if Jesus had been found guilty of some sort of crime..."
Watch it here, it's near the end of a video that's funny all the way through except it's also sad and pathetic.
Nevermind that we have separation of church and state in this country. We are governed by the worst panderers to fake Christianist hubris and it is damaging both our religion and our nation. Shame on you, Senator Clinton. Shame.
Don't flatter Jesus or his followers by getting his story wrong, you ignorant Senator. Oh I know what you thought I was gonna say...no, I don't use that word but I think these days "Senator" is the same and worse.
From Betty Bowers's cafepress store, of course.
UPDATE: Good thing for you Mrs. Clinton many Americans are as ignorant about the Constitution....oh nevermind I'm depressed now.
IRONIC, BECAUSE PIAPS WILL CRIMINIZE FAITH AND CONFISCATE BIBLES AND TRACTS!!!!
ReplyDeleteIN A RECENT DEBATE, DEMLIB SKANK PIAPS MAINTAINED THAT HER WICCAN PRACTICES AND CHANNELING ELEANOR ROOSEVELT HELPED HER COPE WITH RESENTMENT FOR CLINTOON RESULTING FROM HER OWN GNAWING SELF-LOATHING AND UNRESOLVED PENIS ENVY!!!!!
AS THE DEMLIBS CRANK UP THE “FAITH-TALK”, THE INTERNATIONAL HERALD TRIBUNE PUBLISHED THESE CHILLING WORDS ABOUT THE POPE OF ROME!!!!!
On the political front, Benedict has demanded debt relief for impoverished nations, said that "nothing positive" has come from the United States-led war in Iraq, and denounced capitalism as an "ideological promise" that "has proven false."
LAST DECEMBER, AMERICAPHILE EXPOSED THE POPE AS AN AGENT OF PIAPS!!!!!!!
THE ONE-WORLD RELIGION IS ON THE WAY!!!!!!
“Feminism encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians.” ~ PAT ROBERTSON.
A funny commentary by Jon Stewart.... a real train wreck of political and religious issues.
ReplyDeleteChurch-State separation in a Secular Liberal Democracy, good:
Link
Interference with a Church's religious responsiblity to provide sanctuary to the needy, bad:
Link and Link
Negligent governmental enforcement of immigration laws supporting generalized corporatist goals effecting suppression of labor costs, immoral:
Link
As you can see I'm comfortable with the Constitution and the concept of separating Church and State. However if the "christian right" wants a religious war for Theocracy I might have another idea. Link
Geez Louise, Clinton gets worse by the week. She starting to make Edwards look consistent and Obama look profound.
ReplyDeleteKucinich 2008. Because George McGovern won't run.
Hey, friends, look! Ralphie's back! Ralphie did the google using Sen. Clinton's name and found BG's post!
ReplyDeleteThat was very good, Ralphie. Teacher Dave gives you a gold star.
As I've said before, Hillary is Bill without the charm. Or the political acumen.
ReplyDeleteShe's without a number of things, but she will probably HAVE the nomination. So sad...
ReplyDeleteWell, hopefully Hillary will wipe our Lord's slate clean by pardoning him once she's elected. That whole conviction, death, and resurrection part of the story is a real downer. Geez, she's as theologically clueless as Pat Robertson. What party is she running for again? Though religion shouldn't be used in this way, part of me just wants the religious leaders of the world to hold a forum with all the presidential candidates to quiz them on the religious convictions they claim to have.
ReplyDeleteBy the way Ralph, I first thought you were praising the Pope by drawing attention to his quotes. Are you aware of the futility in denouncing the pope as a socialist anti-war leader to a socialist anti-war audience?
ralph has some odd ideas.clinton, well, i'd much rather have bill back.
ReplyDelete"She's without a number of things, but she will probably HAVE the nomination. So sad..."
ReplyDeleteAnything would be an improvement over what we have now. Hell, Joe Lieberman would be an improvement over what we have now.
Sorry guys but the remark was perfect for the aduience. Latins are pro-immigration and devoutly catholic.
ReplyDeleteCall it pandering but she made big points that night.
GETTING ELECTED is the reason all the canidates are doing all of these so called debates.
They are just cattle calls and if you make one good talking point stick you win.

Like it or not. That's my bet (if I were a betting person...)
BTW, what the hecky is a "PIAPS" anyhoo?
ReplyDeleteD. F. T. T. folks. That one in particular. I don't take him seriously at all I think he's a big fake.
ReplyDeleteOh, nobody takes him SERIOUSLY, Gal, no worries there.
ReplyDeleteOkay, so now what does DFTT mean? I'm so confused...
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteBeing a Catholic myself, I disagree. Hillary's remark was thoroughly offensive, ESPECIALLY to Catholics. Suffering is valued by Catholics perhaps more than Protestant denominations. Evangelicals, for example, believe that God will not allow any faithful Christian to suffer or be in poor health. Hence, you have kids dying because their parents refuse to take them to the doctor. Catholics believe that God can heal, but that they're not entitled to it. A deeper faith is often achieved through agony and sorrow. It's quite obvious to the audience that Hillary doesn't understand their beliefs, and hence, doesn't understand them.
Don't Feed the Troll....DFTT
ReplyDeleteGot it. No more feeding trolls. I'll stick with the herd of chipmunks now inhabiting these parts.
ReplyDeleteBesides, they're cuter amd they eat less, I bet.
And about Mrs. Clinton? It might not be that she doesn't understand the beliefs of her audience. it might just just be that she doesn't care, as long as she gets a good sound bite out of it.
Politics and governing by sticking a finger into the wind. It's the Clinton way!
PS: By "these parts," I mean NEW JERSEY, not these parts.
ReplyDeleteSorry. Time for sleep.
@quakerdave
ReplyDelete"it might just just be that (Hillary) doesn't care... Politics and governing by sticking a finger into the wind. It's the Clinton way!"
I think you hit the nail on the head. If only they could find a way to fit all that on a bumper sticker.
