  1. I got a visit from our friendly neighborhood officer when my front license-plate cover (which said Peace for Palestine) was yanked off.

The officer was friendly and helpful (this is a small town, and the police are mostly friendly and helpful here) and made a note of it.

The back license plate with the same message remains.

  2. This is great. Shunra- too bad about that. And you have a great message on your plates.

My 2003 Prius reminds people that "Peace begins when the hungry are fed", "Renewable energy IS homeland security", and suggests that we "End this war".

  5. My sassy '95 Saturn SL has a bumper sticker asks the credulous "Do you have evidence to support that claim?" and reminds people that 1/20/09 is Bush's last day. It is my opinion that it should be a national holiday. We'll call it: "Horrible Presidents' Day."

  8. Oh, just the usual that you'd expect to find on a 1990 Volvo wagon: "Every time you vote Republican God kills a kitten", "Support the Troops, Bring Them Home", and then this nice local one of which I'm especially proud because we're the only school in town with it and it was my baby: "Emerson Elementary School -- Every child an honored student".

  9. The only bumper sticker that I currently have says, "My boxer is smarter than our president." I had and want to find again, "Not all who wonder are lost." (if you can name the book that comes from you get a gold star). I also have a magnet that I want a bumper sticker for that says, "Poverty is a Weapon of mass destruction."

  10. I have only one sticker on my 2003 Ford Focus hatchback -- a very small rainbow sticker ... it pays to advertise!

I have another bumper sticker on my office door that says "I support the separation of church and hate."

  14. "Peas on Earth" (complete with a picture of smiling peas standing on the planet). 10yo gave it to me and I love it.

    There's always 'Promote Whirled Peas'.

But my all time favorite is from a Geo Dept. faculty door sign ca 1976: 'Reunite Gondwanaland'. Look it up. I want it on a T-shirt.

  16. I love that, anon, it reminds me of the t-shirt the kids in the linguistics department at Brandeis had: "What do you mean by 'semantics'?"

My sticker simply reads "F - The President"

  19. On the back window of my Saturn wagon is printed, 1-20-09 End of an Error, on the side window is ImpeachBush.com,

I get lots of sign language from cars passing me. Either I get the middle finger salute, or, more frequently, I get a pumped fist and a big smile.

  20. To Boxer Rebel -

    The Riddle of Strider

All that is gold does not glitter,
    Not all those who WANDER are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost...

It's Tolkien, dude! How could a thinking person not know it?!? Anyway, the specific book is Fellowship Of The Ring.
