Comrade Kevin suggested another Peter Cook Youtube in comments here, but my favorite of all time is the original Bedazzled, as Satan (complete with red socks, of course):
And another who died too young, the wonderful, wonderful Robert Palmer. This is the first rock video I EVER saw, on a Canadian TV show called "The New Music":
I put on black when Robert Palmer passed, I did.
ReplyDeleteMercy, mercy, me.
Great clip! Bedazzled with Peter Cook and Dudley Moore, one of the best films ever! I love that movie! They don't get much better than this.
ReplyDeleteAnd Bedazzled is coming out in a matter of a couple weeks on DVD, finally. It's been on Region 2 code forever, but finally they decided to make is so's us Yanks could see it properly.
ReplyDeleteHow I wanted to be Robert Palmer. He was the epitome of coolness.
ReplyDeletevery cool.
ReplyDeleteQuaker Dave, I hear ya. Remember his album Some People Can Do What They Like? The cover had Robert Palmer and some babe playing strip poker in the grass, while a chauffeur stood next to a limo. I so wanted to be Robert Palmer.
ReplyDeletethat was some good stuff, BG. esp. the "Creature Comforts" parody.
ReplyDeleteare you turning to an all youtube format!? i kinda like it...
