No, Lent isn't over...

...but this is like any other year, the bitchy blue nun in my Lenten banner hadda leave to go finetune her database. The Lenten database is always a thing of beauty, but there's true penance in that no one will need it after Easter.

I've been working on an alternate header anyway.

I like your flag, but they'll only complain you need two of them if you go with this design:-)

Love the new banner. My wife told me about the momocrats meme going around with that too.

The banner is great.

Obama is apparently supportive of the idea that we continue to use mercenaries in Iraq, however.

He is starting to piss me off some.

Awesome.

QuakerDave, the last I saw Obama hadn't ruled them out, but wasn't supportive of them per se. I don't know if you've seen a specific statement. Blackwater and the like are certainly horrible, but I can see the problem in making an ultimatum before everyone's pulled out; the Petagon has outsourced many traditional army jobs to their buddies in Halliburton and the like, and sadly, some of that will take to reverse. My bigger concern would be if he actually thinks mercenaries are a good thing in general. Regardless, it's a good issue to press him on.

Err, take time to reverse.

If you're not ruling them totally out, you're ruling them in, on this issue, at least, as far as I'm concerned.
