Don't forget the book bargains this summer, either.

Turns out you can get Mary Cheney's memoir for six cents (***NEVER USED***) at Amazon.

  1. I'm going to wait until it goes down another 6 cents. And then, I'll probably just leave it there.

However, Lynne Cheney's bad lesbianish fiction, "Sisters," however, jumps off the shelves, and I understand that it is a hot item on eBay these days.

  3. It's OK to browse Amazon, but they are Republican contributors. Please consider buying your books online through Powells.com. (Don't know if you can get Mary Cheney's book at such a bargain price though ...)

  4. amen, Suzy. I usually link to Powells when recommending a book. That or better yet, Abebooks.com, which is a consortium of used booksellers.

For remaindered books I suggest the hamiltonbook.com website - although they now take credit cards, the most cost-effective way to pay is to mail them a check. You can rely on their money-back guarantee, too - I've taken them up on it a few times.

And a good source to find used books, and compare prices on new books, is addall.com - they search many booksellers, including the ones you mention, Blue Gal.
