The big winners for the GOP tonight?

Presenting...the new face of the Republican Party.

It's too early to call either Schmidt or Allen the winner at this point, but they're both ahead as of this writing and I'm going to bed. If they win, these are the people who are going to get congratulatory phone calls from the President.

Pffffft.

A sincere congratulations to Strickland, Casey, Pelosi, and all of us. Stay humble people. It was only four years after Carter was elected, when we Dems were going to reform and save America from the legacy of Watergate, that the Reagan Revolution began. Americans have no sense of history, and the memory hole is huge. They just wanted the crooks out. All the corruption was interferring with their enjoyment of home re-decorating shows. Now America can resume caring about stupid stuff again, like the sanctity of Britney Spears's marriage.

Enjoy the glow, then move on.

  2. You give us wise words, and when you wake up tomorrow, you'll read a bunch of really good outcomes.

Pelosi and the Democrats must indeed be very smart and cautious in order to avoid giving it all back in two years.

I think they'll do just fine.

  4. Indeed, Blue Gal, indeed.

So far as I'm concerned, actions speak louder than words.

What can you do for us, Ms. Pelosi?

Or rather what will you do for us?

  5. There is much to be done, folks, and each of us is part of the work ahead. Start planning how you are going to contribute.

  6. Just the beginning, but it feels very good. And you're right, staying humble is vital.

    BG,
Yes. I was rather disheartened when I heard of Britney and hubby getting a divorce... I couldn't think straight for about six hours! Used a whole box of tissue and friends and family think I've lost my galldurned mind...but damnit! I had such high hopes for the trailer park couple that I was just sure they'd retain their House!

Dag nab it at all to Hell!

What is this world coming to?

  8. Looks like Webb is going to pull it out after all! And Montana looks good too.

As for Britney, I say she can marry as many times as she wants, as long as she doesn't want to marry a woman. After all, marriage is a sacred thing. :)

  9. You may want to consider this weather report: yesterday started rainy and cloudy and ucky. Around the afternoon, we started seeing sun through the clouds, and the evening (say, about closing time in East Coast polls?) was a time for thunder and lightening - sound and fury, as it were, signifying nothing.

This morning is all bright and clear, with clouds parting to show us some blue skies.

I only wish this could be said about other places in the world - but it's fairly accurate for the weather right here, as well (apparently) as in the OTHER Washington.
